COMPASS is a non-profit, non-advocacy organization that helps scientists build the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to effectively engage in public discourse and decision-making about the environment. Participating in a COMPASS training gives you the opportunity to workshop your science in a practical way, reflect on the “so what” of your science, meet journalists and policymakers whose work is relevant to your science, and become part of a community of scientists who encourage and support each other to get out of their labs and engage with the real world. ​RAMSAR - Scientific and Technical Review Panel

The purpose of the STRP is provide scientific and technical guidance and advice to the Ramsar Contracting Parties, the Conference of the Parties, the Standing Committee, the Ramsar Secretariat and to other wetland users working on wetlands issues, in order to foster the implementation of the Convention. This workshop focused on the Tempisque Watershed and was held at Earth University in Liberia, Costa Rica. The goal of the workshop was to determine future concerns anticipated by farmers, scientists, and NGO-leaders and how to best address them.
